Here, with San Simeon in the background, is the Holyrood tartan in a classic tunic and straight skirt. 

These are available in weathered tartans which reflect the weavers art and the colores de California in the same way tartan reflects the colors of Scotia!

All of our designs are fashioned in the Los Angeles garment district, cut and fabricated in the USA, utilizing the finest tartan woolens woven in Scotland imported and stocked by us.

For years we wanted to show tartan in a way which would do justice to its heritage, history, and beauty. 

 

The results are apparent. The inherent beauty of the tartan and its wearer show timeless appeal.

 

One way to do so, with class and style, we decided, was to make tartan fashions available for women. Ladies tartan sporrans were available through the mid 20th century and then seemingly disappeared. These were our first, as our model shows at right.

 

These were followed by Belts, Belt Purses, Vests, Skirts, Kilted Skirts, Coats, and accessories. These are a few of the items we alone handcraft in the US in our facilities in Los Angeles.

Our belts, for men, women, and children's everyday wear, and business or dress show the same concern for quality exhibited in all of our products. It is more expensive to make single surcingle, all tartan belts, but not more costly to you! We use no leather frames, or other distractions, from the classicism of the tartan itself!

 

The surcingle, the belt loop, as much as anything we do, shows the care and quality we furnish. Hand shaped, cut, and sewn with experience, it is the loop on the belt.

To prevent undue wear we grommet all of our holes with colored steel grommets. 

All of our buckles are bright brass gold finished.

 

We offer a solid,  hand cut, hand made, quality construction; three tiers, with an inner, unseen, pliable strength layer, grommet reinforced holes for durability, riveting for security, and hand stitching all around. Finished with care and substantial, bright gold polished, solid brass buckles.

Jeans, khakis, shorts, or dress slacks; all are fashionable with the élan of tartan.

For evening wear and dress, we handcraft fine leather mens sporrans in domestic, and imported, belting, enhanced, and natural leathers. Legal exotic skins and furs are also available.

We were told by a wonderful Scottish lady,  that years ago, tartan sporrans for ladies were readily available in Scotland. Taking our basic gents all leather sporran design, which is roomier, and much softer, than traditional designs, we added tartan on the bottom front and offered, as an option, a shoulder strap in bright gold finished brass chain.

This permits it to be worn on a belt or off the shoulder.

Naturally, we hope it will be a Bonbright Woolens matching tartan belt.

DECOR - For the HOME, Office, and Elsewhere

There is no proscription on the use of tartan, prigs and purists notwithstanding. I remember hearing an objection by a self-entitled Laird, about the use of tartan on dogs. As I left the meeting I pondered whether the 'Laird's'  blood line was as pure as that of my wee West Highland White Terrier, depicted at rest on the Lord of The Isles Blue tartan cushion which now belongs to him!
